City Year Interview

This is an interview with three people, Amy, Kenneth, and Millicent, who are part of City Year, an organization that helps schools in cities. The service is done by 17-24 year olds in 10 month periods of full time community service (with a stipend), which can include after-school programs, literacy programs, working with teachers in classrooms, and other things. They have sites in 17 other cities besides New York City, and in NYC one of their locations is at The Point, where they run the after-school program, including homework help and classes for elementary students and high schoolers.
Although the three interviewed are not part of the team that works at the Point or in the South Bronx, they were at The Point for a Friday meeting and workshop the day we conducted the interview, and were very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about explaining City Year.
